The bioinspired rotor for Eolic systems has been created to generate electricity; for example, those rotors which are based on Sycomorus seeds (Crandfield University Media Centre), and the blue propulsion whale’s fins (Wind Energy Institute of Canada, WEIC). In contrats, bioinspired rotors for pumping Eolic systems are unknown. In Colombia there several studies of the National University and Andes University related to applications of Eolic energy in pumping systems; those studies are focused to optimization and adapting components different to the rotor.
